  • The design of the home centers around a bright, open family core, fostering connection and interaction. This central space is framed by solid volumes that house more private functions. The primary gravity and lateral structure consists of steel moment frames supporting an expansive shed roof framed with Alaskan yellow cedar glulam beams. To preserve the natural site topography, the structure is elevated on piers, minimizing ground disturbance and ensuring the longevity of the framing.

Modular structures

  • Location: Various locations

    Client: Dogwood Industries

  • This temporary aircraft maintenance facility features long-span trusses and modular framing to minimize construction time and simplify site preparation. The system by Dogwood Industries incorporates several innovative elements that provide a comprehensive, relocatable building solution. Safety during assembly is prioritized through pre-installed bracing for stable lifting and handling, and temporary wind bracing engineered for unpredictable conditions. The structure is highly adaptable to nearly any site environment, including extreme wind speeds, seismic ground motions, and roof snow loading.

Special Projects

  • Client: Fire Escape Testing

    Builder: Fire Escape Testing

  • The International Fire Code requires fire escapes to be reviewed for structural integrity and a report submitted to the local fire code official at least every five years. The City of Seattle specifically mandates that these examinations be performed by a licensed Professional Engineer, with reports submitted via The Compliance Engine. Radial Engineering provides comprehensive fire escape structural examinations, compliance reporting, and detailed repair recommendations. We partner closely with Fire Escape Testing, a local provider offering complete services from load testing to full renovation solutions.
